The All White Trend via Stripes 'n Studs as seen on NYFW Spring 2014

Hi lovely ones,

So I have been asked on Instagram to do daily posts on my OOTDs, so I complied and I am thankful and greatly encouraged by the positive feedback I am getting from you guys so Imma keep doing this for you guys.

On to today's post :

The color white dominated the NYFW Spring 2014 runways in a major way and of course I wasn't just going to let this slide without creating my own take of the trend. Things to remember: you do not necessarily have to wear the same shade of white, you can mix different "whites" and just be creative about it - like I always say: it's your style!

So here's my interpretation of the trend for the office lady

As always, God bless and smoochies,
Gee

This Jacket has such detail in the cut it is modern and very much office appropriate without being too " officy" if I'm making any sense. And the best part is you can just throw on some jeans and you are off to a night in the town! And a white button down is and should be a wardrobe stable, okay ladies? MKAY!

The Studs on these pants are everything! They are still formal with a bit of edgy and fun detail, and the gold just
 catches the eye

Pointy toe heels are office appropriate, glam, sophisticated. The suede makes everything polished and put together, very put together.

The whole look with just a tiny pop of color!

Gems and Glitter featuring at 32Clothing Co - Johannesburg's best kept fashion secret

Hi Lovelies,

I apologize for writing this blog post so late- I'm moving and trying to get my life in order amidst all that's going on business wise. Hope y'all forgive lil' old me.

Anyways on to today's post :)
I was invited to attend 32Clothing's Media & Fashion Blogger Event held last Friday in Johannesburg, so like a good girl I packed my bag and went up to the city of gold.

With +BONA Magazine Online Editor @mandy_dlangz and Features Editor @phila_tyekana

It's a blogger thing! Left to right:@mehloe, @nadia_omar, myself @missgeecoza, and @twiggymoli FIND US ON IG

The owners of the store are comprised of David, his wife Ali and business partner Shaun. This dynamic, young and overall lovely trio is the reason why downtown Jozi has a secret fashion paradise spot tucked neatly at 81 Rissik  Street, and I tell you this store makes rough, downtown Jozi all mellow for us fashion lovers!

Imagine stepping into a floor and greeted by American & European fashion brand names like Zara, Miss Sixty, GAP, Lee Cooper, Hilfiger, Energie, Banana Republic, H&M to name a few; and to have access to this at up to 80% discounted prizes! I know, it's enough to make you leave this screen right now and head over to their website, right?! So imagine my surprise and pleasure when I browsed through the racks, I was all giddy and stuff inside!!!!

SOME OF THE ITEMS I TRIED ON

Fashion entrepreneurs like myself  also can establish partnerships with 32 Clothing Co as a partner and trade in the informal sector as resellers. Multi-sale customers are offered further discounts  of up to 30%, provided they make a purchase of R2000 to provide even further value and an opportunity to generate better profits.

And the cherry on top was that they now have a shoe range, and y'all know that heels are my Achilles' Heel (NO PUN INTENDED LOL)! And I instantly fell in love with this black glitter heel here by Stradivarius of Spain.

I paired these with this gem embellished LBD .

I finished the whole outfit with this Tosoco bag with gold zipper.

A Musical Feast - introducing Cizario Roberts

I had the pleasure of spending some time with up and coming artist Cizario Roberts, who has been busy in studio recording his first album titled" Ngizelingoma", loosely translated "I have given birth to a song" which is befitting for a first album and for someone whose music career growth I have had the blessing to witness .

Listening to the album was refreshing, it carries a smooth, jazzy, neo-soul feel to it reminiscent of names like Maxwell yet still bears the markings of the authentic South African flavor. I am definitely not being biased, given that he is a close friend of mine, in giving the album a sterling  review and I encourage each one of you to keep your ears open as to when it will be available on the shelves; because it will be worth the investment.

My favorite is of course Fall Again and because I love you all so much I am going to let you have a listen, so go on and  click here  :)

Spring/Summer 2014- I'ts finally Arrived in the Southern Hemisphere!!!!!

Hello loves,

Spring is around the corner and a girl has got to prepare their wardrobe. Move over furry, heavy coats and knit scarves- it's time to blossom in flirty, flowy, lightweight materials again.
I personally can't wait to feel the beach sand in between my toes- yes I'm a beach bum.
PS fellow beach bums- do not forget the sunscreen

Without further ado let's get on with those tips:

So we all know this year's colour is Pantone's Radiant Orchid : be sure to get some items that will showcase this beautiful, rich berry tone. So here's an inspiration board for y'all lovely ladies: what I love about the colour is the makeup looks good on both light and dark skin tones.

Spotted on Fashion week is the classic monochrome trend, which is clearly here to stay and influenced a couple of designs on names like bcbg max, Derek Lam and Diane von Furstenberg (who also showcased another Spring trend : the crop top).

Derek Lam

Diane von Furstenberg

White on white is also big this Spring as was seen on the runway designs by
Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein ( who also potted a big trend for this season- the fringe)

Ralph Lauren Spring 2014

Calvin Klein Spring 2014

Another trend that's sweeping the street is the athletic trend- sporty chic on the streets! Personally I would go for the minimalist look on this one, but hey if you are bold deck the pieces out and express yourself. Good news, your gym clothes have a dual purpose now lol

Sheer material is also in for the spring and one can incorporate it in almost every item of clothing as seen on the runway of Theysken's Theory

so
So here is a bit of street inspiration pieces for us "normal people" who our runway is the local pavement  lol:

OOTD - THE ANDROGENOUS LOOK

Androgyny is the combination of masculine and feminine characteristics. Today I opted to dabble with the style and it's make-up free Thursday as my skin is breaking out from the harsh weather we have been experiencing here in East London. I loved the shoes because they gave my feet a break but were still formal for the office- plus I'm not a lace up or sneaker person so it was refreshingly pleasant how comfy they were. But I still wanted to keep a piece of femininity to the outfit by adding a delicate chiffon shirt and jacket with a chiffon back.  So girls I hope you are inspired to don a power suit and show who's the boss.

Winter 2014

Winter is no longer about drab-looking clothing- no this winter you can still look your best while bundling up to keep the chill at bay. South Africa can be very cold in some parts and here in East London unfortunately we get wet winters so one must bundle up.
Here's a few tips from the who's who of the fashion houses collections of Fall/Winter Fashion Week 2014
1.Street Grunge
Think prints and different textures layered in relaxed fits.
Worn leather is the hype and a leather jacket is a must in every closet, preferably a tailored fit because you do not want your biker looking 2 sizes bigger!
Plaid (as seen on Salvator Ferragamo) -shirts, skirts, cardigans: incorporate plaid in your look even if its just a shirt tied around your waist for that street cred.
2. Leather accents
Black on black is here to stay: you can even dress it up with more feminine silhouette for extra chic. The leather look is trending on all forms from faux leather, quilts a' la Chanel, patents- your can get it from leggings to jackets to achieve this style.
3. Go Goth or go home
No I'm not one to start putting black lipstick on my lips but you can still achieve the look whilst still staying very feminine. Black being the obvious colour can be bought in different textures like chiffon to still feel chic and sophisticated with just a touch of leather and maybe a smoky eye and black nails to give you the edge. You can also include a few studded pieces like belts and bags.

 4. Monochrome and Animal Prints
Monochrome is always classy but can still be played fro the boardroom to the classroom. It is timeless: ask Coco Chanel and Aubrey Hepburn they will tell you!! Some animal print accents were seen in Salvator Ferragamo's collection and this can be achieved with more subtle pieces like cute pumps at Rage SA.

Make sure you have these staples this winter:

the over the knee boot that can be taken from runway to the street like Angelina Jolie

Remember don't be afraid to layer girl. This can be achieved without adding extra bulk to your body: here's a few looks for you to try
